An idiom is a phrase or a fixed expression that has a figurative, or sometimes literal, meaning.
Examples:

  • Against the clock
  • All ears
  • Beat one's brain out
  • Before one's very eye
  • Beggars can't be choosers
  • Bend over backwards
  • Make one's blood boil
  • Make mouth water
