- ('s) is used on a noun to show that it is the owner of an object
- Mr. Ramesh's hat
- Sam's bag
- my brother's room
- (') only apostrophe is used on plural nouns since the letter s is already present
- the girls' skirts
- my students' work
- ('s) is used if the plural word does not have an s
- children's book
